SMBC is a student-hosted radio show based at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Tasked with creating brand visuals using no previously established standards, this visual system relies on home-grown and DIY qualities just like the shows own DJs and the network that hosts them.
Images of the clients in their own back yard and textures created from photos of local Ohio wildlife serve as visual unifiers in this system as well as pointing to the shows local roots. The various vintage type treatments and print textures call back to DIY music scenes of the past and current revivals- reflecting the expansive range of the shows musical features and conversation topics.
